Action for Trans* Health seeks to improve trans* people’s access to healthcare. We currently see our aims as follows:

  • Raising funds to give small cash grants which facilitate trans* individuals’ access to healthcare. As this is an area where demand will always exceed supply, priority will be given to people who are facing greater barriers than most, e.g. non-binary/genderqueer people, people with communication issues, those who have been in the system for a long time due to administrative/funding issues, etc.
  • Engaging with medical professionals about trans* health; by putting together workshops on trans* health needs, compiling lists of doctors known to be good with trans* patients, assisting people to complain about malpractice, etc.
  • Engaging the trans* community about health issues; by providing sexual health workshops, harm reduction information on self-medicating, information on NHS funding structures, etc.

Currently we are focusing on things local to Manchester, but we are looking for groups and individuals across the UK to get involved. Please contact us for more information.
